    WF Bi##ch Thread

Fine fine... Lessons learned: longer mounting brackets for tow hooks, show up early. ...but I have ONE MORE gripe... DiscoSteve's rig was out of the game WAY too early...

    WF Bi##ch Thread

You'll find I respond extremely well to sarcasm... I PAID to attend this event because I believed it would be well-coordinated, educational (to me), and fun. It got the last two, but the first is laughable. I'll admit that, had I shown up early, I would have dodged most, if not all the...

    WF Bi##ch Thread

Mine are tied in the same way... I don't understand the difference (not still fuming, I want to understand so I can "fix it"). Another buddy (regular on here, invited me to to the event) showed me some brackets that he had, but the only difference seeme to be that they extended further back...

    WF Bi##ch Thread

Missed the driver's meeting on Friday - I was "late". And I didn't see a driver's meeting anywhere on Saturday. I don't recall anyone telling Bob to go ahead - might have been outside the Jeep at that point. And if only the lead and tail were supposed to pull out stuck vehicles, how come I...

    WF Bi##ch Thread

I was a newbie to WF, and this was also my first trail run ever. The experience was a BLAST - awesome time on the trails (had no idea what my rig was capable of), super friendly people, excellent food at the pot luck... HOWEVER, I considered the administration/organization of the event to be...

    Winterfest 2011 registration.

Ah... Didn't read that far down. For others that might make the same folly - yes, the campgrounds are prepared for the NAXJA-teers. :)

    Winterfest 2011 registration.

<--- Newbie, thinking about going... Just went to the Attica Campgrounds site, and it says they open on the 6th... Is it reserved for this event?

Anywhere to buy a NEW rear D44?

Just found "stripped" rear D44s on www.4wd.com. I'd just have to weld on the perches and mounts.

Anywhere to buy a NEW rear D44?

Probably the way I'll go, then. Basically, all I'd be keeping is the tubes and diff housing, right?

Thanks for the link - any experience with them? Reliable? Quality?

Anywhere to buy a NEW rear D44?

Does anybody know of someone that manufactures direct bolt-in rear D44 axle assemblies for XJs? G2 makes front and rear for TJs, and I guess it's just a happy coincidence for them that the mounting for everything in the front is the same as the XJ, but I haven't been able to locate anybody who...

    Turn Signal Issue

I know you said everything else in the column works fine, but just so it's specific... The hazard flashers work the way they're supposed to? The hazard switch tends to be a common problem point. That would be my first guess, but there's a chance the turn signal switch is on the fritz too.

    Installing tow hooks.

I put a grill guard on mine not too long ago, and I'm pretty sure two hooks would mount in the same fasion. Basically, the guard mounts to brackets that slipped between the bumper mounts and the subframe rails, which of course required removing the bumper mount bolts. You can get away with...

    Water pump removal tech

I had to pull the PS bracket off when I did mine, as well. Got a few good swings with a hammer, and it finally loosened up. The old gasket had pretty much become one with the block... Took forever to get it all off.

    broken shock bolts

Broke all 4 of mine, just drilled and re-tapped. Been holding since May - kinda wished I'd just punched out the old nuts though.
