I bought a 98-97 XJ V8 alternator and i have the old one out of the jeep.
The middle front bracket nut is still stuck and i have at least partially rounded it off. I had two attempts fail to weld a socket to the nut.
Any advice? Should I continue the attempts to weld the socket on seeing as i...

Recently the charging on my Xj has been sub par (or not at all the last two days) so I believe that it is time for a new alt. I have searched and have narrowed down my reasonable options to the 97-98 ZJ 130 amp and the durango 160 amp
I see that the alternators...
I have a full length roof rack from my 92 Jeep Cherokee that
I want to sell or trade. It has the stock 2 crossmembers, both the side rails and I can supply 11 of the 12 torx bolts (I stripped 1 on removal)
I would like $50 for the rack and can ship on buyers dime, I would also like to trade...
Just thought i'd pass along some info:
I went to PnP this morning and to my surprise discovered at-least two pre-96 Xj's with overhead consoles. There is also at-least one more 5.2L ZJ with the tierod.
I went looking for 2 soundbars but left with one, a ZJ tierod and a Monte Carlo Mirror with...
Short answer: yes but it will cost a lot of money into custom work and time. If you really want a turbo setup, Boostworks produces a single turbo manifold for the 4.0L and they are a NAXJA vendor which is always a plus. Hope this helps.

Today as I was leaving school my Jeep would not put any power to the pavement as I gave it gas. I tried all the forward gear-sets and even reverse after I had it out of traffic and still nothing. I adjusted the throttle cable and still no output. I'm thinking this...
External dimensions would be a great help. If I find a way to fab up a box for a 12 in that cubby hole I'll be sure to post it here. Thanks for your help urban
I figured that i would need to go the custom route but I thought that i could possibly enlarge the depth on the JL box but copy the other dimensions in order to increase volume and allow for deeper mounting depth, but after looking at your pics in the subs in Xj's thread its seeming less and...
Yes I did look at that thread, but the linked boxes house 8 inch and don't have enough volume for what I was looking for. the box you have is the only one that i've seen that looks as if it could hold a 12 without choking the sub, and wouldn't keep me from hauling hockey gear in the back.
I was looking at the vantage boxes and was considering bilding a similar box for my self. I would like to know the exterior dimensions and the sealed volume for the Vantage box. I looked all over NAXJA, JF etc and couldn't find what i was looking for. The reason i don't want to just buy a box is...

I own a 92 XJ 4x4 4.0l Laredo w/ 178,000 on the clock. I will be returning to my hometown of Franklin Tn in a few weekends, and was wondering how bad it will hurt my mpg if i stopped through dyersburg, tn and picked up a rough Country 3in series 2 lift. It a little out of my way but is easier...
