IMO it depends on how you wheel, if you are a hammer the throttle until it goes kind of person then you may want to build a shaved 14 bolt. I have seen stock 60 hold up in mud trucks with 44 boggers. i would imagine behind a 4.0L a 60's and a softer foot would be more than enough. but that is...
Out of curiosity do you plan on changing your rear axle as well if you go to a D44 front? Is your D30 trussed? My thought would be to upgrade to at least a D44 and 9" if you are braking ball joints on a D30 with 33's. just my .02
I have a friend of mine who uses a bender like to build stock cars. Works pretty well but you can bend under 90 degrees. For the price it seems like a pretty good deal. There are other companies that make similar ones with different sized dies.
Here is my heep, i figure i am at around 3"-3.5" of lift and 33" KM2 (Love these tires), somewhat heavy trimming. :)
Here is a shot of it on level ground
and here is a shot off it flexing.

I was thinking about using something like this. It is rated at 4000 cfm granted it is a little thick, but i was thinking of pushing my radiator forward anyways. Plus this comes with pretty much everything you would need to...
i don't know about zj coils from experiance but i would imagine that they are stiffer. a bastard packs stiffness will depend on what spring/spring rate you used to build it. if you use a spring that is longer eye to eye than a stock xj with more height it will most likely move your axle back as...
dryer's are single phase. so yes that would work if you can get it close enough or you can build a extremely heavy extension cord to make it reach around the garage easier. i have used a lincoln 140 and had pretty good luck with if for smaller stuff, but the next welder i get will be the miller 211!
i absolutely agree, an overload spring will have no effect on axle wrap. in my mind having the s-10 main leaf would actually help axle more as it is helping to stiffen the spring. stiffer spring = less axle wrap
i know you feel about being deployed. i am current deployed and third world countries internet isn't much better. as far as the lift goes i would almost just buy a cheaper kit. a daystar budget boost would be a good start, i got about an inch out of mine and the longer shackle helped. i know...
