http://raleigh.craigslist.org/pts/3538280344.html Three are aftermarket 15x8" black painted steel wheels with around 3.75" backspacing if I remember right. One is a stock 15x7" steel jeep xj cherokee wheel. One is a 15x8" black painted aluminum aftermarket wheel mounted to a grooved, bald in...
http://raleigh.craigslist.org/pts/3548753790.html The jeep is currently not running (fuel pump and/or NSS maybe, it cut off on the trail, towed it home and usually gets no power at ignition now). Has I6 4.0, Auto, 4" lift front coils, rear bastard pack with extended shackles, 3.55 gears, dana...
Is there a junk yard main leaf I can use that will correct my shackle angle so I dont have to buy the hd offroad shackle brackets?
I also need the axle to stay in roughly the same spot. If anything, towards the rear.
According to a tech at Richmond, the Dana 30 does not need the step washers, but a Dana 35 does:
"By the p/n`s you have given, this is a locker for Dana 30 front axle. P/N 2210-LR. But. The stepped washer is not part of the components used in a Dana 30 application. The only parts needed for...
The previous owner just told me the locker was in his jeep when he bought it and that it worked fine for the past 2 years. It started slipping so he checked the teeth and they looked fine so he bought the spring/pin kit, but never got around to installing them b/c hes going to tons and sold it...
I just got around to pulling my used lockright out of the carrier it came in and noticed that it seems to be missing the spacer washers. I guess they are supposed to look like the third piece from the left in this pic: http://www.jeepaholics.com/tech/lrhubs/P9250829.JPG
Ive never messed with a...
its possible to have blown head gasket even if block test is negative? what other test can be done besides pulling the head? (assuming coolant is clean and not lost)
Well after installing a new csf 2 core rad on my 89 xj w/4.0 and converting the system to newer style to try and fix my overheat i noticed my mech fan was easy to turn with the engine hot or cold. i am told this means a bad fan clutch and if so, I want to replace it with an electric fan i can...
I have RE adj lowers and extremely cut fenders.
But what about contact with the rear inner fenders? As you can see, the previous owner already ripped up two of the tires. Guess I could run the spacers in the rear if I had to.
Will these tires rub anything when mounted on stock 97-06 wrangler steel wheels? Would be going on an 89 xj with around a 4.5" lift. Also have two 1.75" wheel spacers if needed.
My 89 XJ is my second vehicle and I rarely drive it. Ever since dish soap was put in the cooling system to try and flush it (dont ask) it has had an issue with overheating. If it's just idling it wont overheat, but if I drive down the highway or 4wheel it (medium to high revs) it will go to 235...
Those are issues I have now, but I'm just going to ask the manufacturer the fixed UCA length they recommend for 4" of lift and go from there. The more you lift the more it pulls the axle backward. The main issue for me is my 33x12.5's stuffing into the inner rear of the fender plus my driveshaft...
Unless it will noticeably limit my flex I'm going with fixed uppers and adjustable lowers, but I may email them in a bit.
BTW, for some reason I was typing IRO before when I meant Ironman4x4!
Thanks for the link. According to their measurements I have 4.25" of lift, but my control arms are bent so I think the actual lift is slightly less than that.
I agree that 1" longer UCA's may be too long. The Ironman4x4 fixed UCA's for a 3" lift are only .25" longer than stock. That .25" may...
Thanks, I didn't know this. I guess I will aim for a better pinion angle since my XJ is mainly for off-road and regularly gets tached out in 4-low.
So 1" longer than stock CA's is what I will get unless anyone interjects. It would help if I knew my actual lift but my fenders are cut all to...
I was hoping I could move the axle forward by just getting an inch or so longer fixed arms than required for my lift which is V8 ZJ coils, 2" coil spacers and double coil isolators. I don't plan on lifting it any further.
Going by the chart at the bottom of this page...
