    Backfiring in the Intake Manifold

PROBLEM SOLVED Finally resolved the issue. Bad Fuel Pump. At ignition I have 30lbs PSI at Idle anywhere from 31-36 just like the manual says. Starts immediately now, no backfiring, no hesitation under pressure, and I actually have fuel at the fuel rail squirt out if I press on it. Prior to...

    Backfiring in the Intake Manifold

i finally rented a fuel pressure gauge. At the on postion the guage sees no increase in pressure. I start the car and the pressure slowly builds to ten psi, then i have to restart and it finally works its way up to 15 psi starts and idles around 20 psi. When driving it never goes above 23 psi...

    Backfiring in the Intake Manifold

been a long time since i looked at the thread. i haven't changed my problem. I thought it was bad EGR valve and still do with the failed NOX emissions test. I don't know how to test it, and couldn't find a vacuum problem. I suppose that little hose may be worth looking at. same symptoms...

    Backfiring in the Intake Manifold

i haven't had the time to replace the pump. I want to test the fuel rail before so. Anyone know the standard fuel pressure off the rail? Longer Crank times, hesitation, backfiring and loss of power between 20-45 mph when gassing it, and gassy exhaust smell. it does idle fine at 500 rpms, and...

    Backfiring in the Intake Manifold

I double checked fuel filter and even replaced that little hose on the engine end of the filter. the fuel pump hisses. I've been reading on here its pretty common and didn't necessarily mean it was bad. What psi should fuel pump be sending fuel to the rail? would a bad fuel pressure...

Replacing the Fuel Filter (Renix Era)

is it possible to have an air bubble in the fuel line if you dont clamp it off? Is clamping off the fuel a "must do"? Much like burping a coolant system in the RENIX, is that necessary to prevent future fuel problems?

    Backfiring in the Intake Manifold

Hi All, I've been sitting on my hands the past couple weeks a bit stumped. 90 Renix 4.0L I have replaced plugs/cap/rotor Jeep cranks longer to start, always starts. Now, it hesitates and loses power between 20-35 mph, when you give it gas. I'm stuck, I don't have a fuel pressure gauge...

    CCV Valve -

on the lower vacuum fitting someone took two of the ports and connected them together with six inches of vacuum tubing to make one loop. and the third port went to the pressure regulator. So, i'll just get the necessary connectors and cap off one of the ports to the bi-metal sensor and connect...

    CCV Valve -

what i really dont understand is "why would someone connect the EGR solenoid to the intake manifold vent. It's going from or to, EGR->solenoid->vent.

    CCV Valve -

i bought it post air intake. Really not sure who put it on. I'll try and sort it out, probably explains the bad NOx reading on the emissions as well.

    another angle.

    CCV Valve -

this is the present layout. -notice the loose CCV hose. The other goes into the Air Intake. The tube on the intake manifold goes to the EGR Solenoid, then through the "T" into the EGR Valve and dead ends there. I can post a different angle if needed.
