    Anyway to intall dual stabilizers

I had this exact same problem. I suspected it was my rubber sway bar bushings (slightly worn), my cheap shocks, or a combination of the two. I swapped the rubber sway bar bushings for poly to see if it would help (because it was cheaper than four shocks). The poly did help stiffen the side to...

    4.88 or 4.56?

AHHHH that is a good point on recalibration. Fresh rebuilt NON HO 4L (not even close to a HO power), 4:56's, AW4, 33" Swampers, 2100 rpm's @ 65 mph, recalibrated speddo, and a lousy 13-15mpg. Single digits in 4WD. Thankfully it's a trail rig. :rof: BTW.....is this thread ever going to die...

    Anyway to intall dual stabilizers

    Anyway to intall dual stabilizers

Sorry Stick, Was'nt trying to bust your chops. Like I said a well put together front end on an XJ does'nt even need a steering stablizer, much less two. Take a close look at your front end and get to the bottum of your problem.

    Anyway to intall dual stabilizers

Does'nt look like 44"s in his aveator. Must be a mall thing, we would'nt understand.

    Anyway to intall dual stabilizers

If your XJ suspension is so out of wack that you need two stabalizers, you really need to take a close look at your front end. A well set up XJ front end does'nt even need a stablizer!

    Aftermarket Shifter for AW-4

The power/economy switch was in the earlier models. In power it raises the shift points approx 500 rpm. I set mine on power and tucked it up under the dash. Put a more important toogle in its place, like more rear lighting.

    What are my alternator options???

Have a Mean Green 140amp alt with an 850 amp battery ( I think it's an Optima, can't recall and its to cold to go pop the hood LOL). Anyways, I've been very happy with both of them. More then enough power for my winch, lights, stereo etc..... The Mean Greens are pricey, about 350$ I think, but...

Advance Adapters SYE and Tom Woods CV Drive Shaft

Been running that same set up for 1.5 years. Not one single complaint. Tom Woods has excellent cust. service as well. I think you'll be very pleased.

    replace shocks or springs?

I was looking for opinions on making my XJ a little more highway friendly. It's a trail rig, but I have to drive it on mountain highways/roads to reach the trails. Currently running 6" of lift with 33" Swamper radials, Rusty's coils with generic shocks, heavy winch and bumper, quick disco...

    4.88 or 4.56?

4:56's and 33's are'nt to bad. If your considering 35's in the future you might want to consider 4:88's. You going to run stock axles with 35's??? I've got a fresh rebuilt non HO (no where close to the power of a HO) 4L, AX 4, 231, 4:56's, 33" Swampers (actual 33.7" according to TSL), Dana...

anyone running 31s with 3.55 gears?

My heart goes out to all the auto tranny's that are turning 31" tires or larger with 3:55's. Heat is the #1 cause for tranny failure. I know people do it all the time, but IMO you should just regear the Dana 30 to 4:56's. With 4:56's you can always install 32's or 33's in the future if you want...

    4.88 or 4.56?

TRL just brought up a great point. Engine output, tranny/transfer case gearing, tire weight, drag, type of driving etc... all have to be considered for regearing, not just tire hieght. I have a freshly rebuilt non HO with a header and freeflow exhaust (still not close to a HO motors power)...

My 2000xj went back to stock today

00XJ, It's great to see you can take one on the chin and laugh. It's post like this that make NAXJA great. I can certainly see where dumping money into a suspension system that you were'nt happy with the outcome would get very frustrating. Especially on a DD vehicle you are still making...

My 2000xj went back to stock today

"Stock rocks", now how many times have you heard a Jeep owner say that?? Not to take anything from the stock jeep design by any means. I just picture that statement coming from a jeep owner that wears a skirt! It's true, every Jeep has it's own personality. You have listed several reliable...

    Alloy shafts or Rockwells? (long)

WOW.........6:72's, 38's, 65mph @ 2800rpm  . All the while I thought my 33's with 4:56's @2500rpm on the highway was a pig. I wish I had the power to run 65mph on the steeps. I just can't see this beast being driven at highway speeds much. Sorry, this has nothing to do what so ever...

Too many lights, droping below 12 volts

Sounds like it's possibly the battery. How many amps your battery rated at? After I added a winch, I burnt up two alternators. I think they were only 80 amp alts??? After the second one, I opted for the Mean Green 140 amp alt. and a good 850 amp battery. Have'nt had a problem since. However...
