hello,
ive searched like heck on this and a few other jeep site but came up empty. my apologies if this has been asked and answered.
RE: 2001 jeep cherokee sport 4x4 auto.
Issue: my front (Dana30) axle has a UJoint type Axle on the drivers side, and a CV (whatever it is it has a rubber boot)...
BP regular (87) gets me the best mileage of low grade gas. I have tried them all from NC to Florida on the frequent trips I take. I do get better mileage from 89, but it is only worth it on the highway trips.
What I did before I left for Afghanistan for a year:
Ran the tank down to 1/4. Added 2x as much gas stabilizer as required for 18 gal/full tank of gas to my tank along with a bottle of dry gas . Drove to gas station and filled up with 92 Oct.
Added a bottle of radiator cleaner at gas station...
"slinging oil" w/138k is not a good thing.
I assume this is from the front only?
the puller recomemendation is a must
NAPA gasket kit SHOULD include crank seal in the TC cover. IF (and I do mean IF) the TC and gear set needs to be replaced at 138k, don't bother to stop with that, the engine...
It is likely the dealer dorked up the radiator, but not much you can do about it.
You can just get a new one through Radiatorbarn or an eBay for <$100.00. It is very easy to replace. You did not say what year jeep hers is but, this is for the 91-01
eBay
Don't recall anyone saying they were only putting in a coil, but thanks for the information. I assume you measured the output of the stock coil under the conditions you described? It gives me the reference voltages I was looking for.
I have replaced 6 coils on “street” vehicles with an after...
Sorry about the Ghost coil, must be the drugs. Should never have stopped taking them. :gee:
anyway;
What I wanted to post was Cheapjeep2 has the only idea so far that looks like it might work.
thanks all, I appreciate the input. I think the only thing that my work on an 88 is GHOST coil, and even it is modified.
Looks like stock is kinda it.
thanks!
The one I have is going bad, thought I would look into an aftermarket. Doesn't look like anyone makes one though. Every other car I have had did show better performance with a better coil, figured the jeep would be no different.
thanks!
