Can anyone tell me if the cooling fan is supposed to run after you shut off the ignition on an '01 XJ? TIA

On a 2001 XJ, is the cooling fan supposed to remain on after you switch off the ignition? Mine seems to shut off when I turn off the ignition no matter how hot it gets. TIA

My '01 4.0 seems to have more engine noise than my old '93 and what's all this hype about the engine being quieter? I noticed there's no hood pad on the new XJ's I even asked the dealer to see if I had a manifold leak (no) what gives?
