Sorry, but nobody is going to tell you what a great engine that is, because it's not. That same 2.8L was used in '87 and older S10 blazers and it was trash. They seemed to go through head gaskets...

...And do yourself a favor and stay away from the Brute Force joints, they're perfectly worthless and break if you sneeze on 'em. I broke both of mine. I bought a set of NAPA wheel joints and they have yet to break, much better quality and thicker construction.

I always thought you weren't supposed to use teflon tape or RTV on the threads because it acts as an insulator not permitting the sender to ground properly. The threaded body of the sender is what usually ties it to ground unless this one is different.

I believe they will be doing their own labor, (probably for fun) so no cost other than their time there. If they find the right deal they should be able to pull this off for around $350-$500. I seriously doubt they would get a working 4x4 model even in the same model year for only that much...
