How does an automatic XJ not have the AW4. Did you swap it out for a different one or do you have that "other" automatic?

Use a pool noodle and some expanda foam. Trim to liking and then paint black. Done.

I hear ya. For the rear you could try to find someone parting out a SUA truck or suv like the s-10 or dakota and add one of the leafs for a lift in the rear. Up front you could get some 2" coil spacers. There are always cheap ones on the for sale threads. A cheap 2" lift could be had. Only...

With an 11.50 tire you better be thinking of going to an 8" wheel. I suppose a stock 7" will work but will rub like a mo fo because of the BS.

I've got JB weld on mine, but I have plastic stripes lined on the straps so the straps don't rub directly on the JB. Held fine for a year now. As far as the hangers, well one broke and I replaced it with a turnbuckle. For 4 months its held up to abuse, but I do check it weekly.
