I'm running 5oz of .20gm airsofts in my 265's and work fine. Tires are about half worn out now and above 70 mph I get a very slight vibration, just enough to know it's not perfect but no big deal. I think it's out of round tire more then balance.
Good Luck!
The bolt locations/problems are the same with stock or aftermarket exhaust systems. Studs are not a solution. Read the instruction sheet that comes with the header and it's not too much of a problem. You will not be able to use a torque wrench on all nuts. I torque one and use a wrench to...
I've installed 3 of these headers so far and know of at least 6 others.. All installed with no problems with stock intakes and exhaust pipe.
The only problem is when using a 99+ intake. Here's a writeup on the install and what needs to be clearanced...
It will fit with a little clearancing on #6 intake and exhaust tubes. Here's link to complete writeup of install: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=84418
Good Luck!
This has a 2" collector flange that connects to stock header pipe. http://www.automotivepartsnetwork.com/store/pc/AutoPart.asp?idProduct=20009 is where I got mine for $119.89 plus $15.81 shipping. It comes complete with gasket. I installed a 99+ intake at same time. I get 13mpg wheeling and...
Here's the basic proceedure:
* If you have a digital camera, take several pictures of wiring, cables and vacuum lines. Anything that you are not sure of remembering exactly how it was before it was taken apart.
*Remove the air intake and filter box.
*Disconnect throttle cable, cruise...
Installing a 99+ 4.0 Intake Manifold on 99- 4.0
with Banks Lookalike Header
EDIT: I posted complete word .doc with pictures, but pictures do not show. If you can repost this with the pictures, let me know. It's pretty worthless without the pictures, so I'll delete this if we can't get the...
I see no problem with chinese quality. They have some of the best quality manufacturing facilities in the world now.
(maybe it's all that soy sauce)
I do see a big problem with the lack of American manufacturing and resulting loss of jobs in America while so much being 'off shored' and made...
I spent 3 days wheeling in Death Valley, and can say it works well. I got 18.5 mpg driving 60 - 80 mph on my 97 going to and from the park. Mileage when wheeling was less of course. Road to and from have grades of 7-8% and power with the lift and tires feels like it did with stock intake and...
I have installed mine along with a 99+ intake manifold and am very happy with the results. If you can afford to do the 99+ intake and lookalike exhaust at same time, do it! You can find info on it here: http://www.xjfanatic.com/msgbrd1/viewtopic.php?t=60
I'm in the process of doing a...
blakelock,
If you didn't wipe the computer clean after install of new exhaust, it takes it a couple hundred miles to adjust. If you had wiped it, it would still take a couple hundred miles to adjust. I did get a mileage and power increase with mine, but I changed to a 99+ intake at same time...
