Why there is no reason to cut a hole in the floor. There is more then enough room to reach up from underneath, drop a bolt in, and also get a box wrench up there when you need to tighten it all down.

Wasn't there are guy on here that used a Toyota bed tonneau cover to do just that? Or you could do what this dude did and use a vanagon camper top to make it a Jeep-A-Gon

I took these off my GC for new rims and tires. Typical Jeep rim 5 on 4.5 by 16". Tires still have tread but are getting a bit worn down. 235/70/16

Uhmm it's a radius arm set up. Making the lower arms longer would only push the axle that much more forward and not change the caster. Now changing the upper control arms length by shortening them would roll the axle causing more caster.
My guess would be that you are trimming the rear corner of the skid plate to clear the two lower bolts on the subframe
And yes I agree the best thing for mounting is a section of 2x4 slide down inside the frame rail but as he said he doesn't have a welder and most don't so bolt on is their...
