You can make a short elbow pipe and pop the exhuast out in front of the rear tire, use a hanger and bolt it to a hole in the uniframe with a self tapping bolt. I did this for a few years. Use a short muffler (cherry bomb turbo II about 14" long).
I've got a 2" pipe coming out of the CAT to a 12" long glasspack resonator muffler (it was laying around the muffler shop). Sounds good, not too loud, the 2" helps with torque yet it still has more flow coming out than a stock 2.25" muffler setup.
Do the Chevy shackles fit well? I already have my exhaust coming out the side in front of rear wheel (careful getting in that back door!) so no worries about shackles rubbing.
Also, anyone have numbers for some inexpensive shocks for 2" lift? Gabriel, monroe or something that autozone carries...
In NC, we have visual and emissions inspections, plus my XJ has OBD2 with O2 sensors in front of and in back of the cat....
I was thinking of getting one of those Monza resonator tips and using that as a muffler. I did that on a 4.3L V6 GMC pickup I had and it sounded great.
Here's what I'm running and I don't really care for it. I put a Cherrybomb TUrboII on and then added a 90 degree turn out in front of the rear tire. It's kinda loud and blatty. Not the best sound. Next time Im thinkiing of getting the glasspack and have a tail pipe bent up. I only did this...
