It will be fine. I ran my 98 on front wheel drive for 2 days while doing some drive shaft/SYE work. No seal needed. As stated above, the factory did it for us on the 97+ ones.
I seem to remember helping a guy with shocks some years back and they were on the inside of his springs. Anybody ever pulled out the bump stop and relocate the shock there? You'd never lose the spring.

You all were right. It was the Lower control arms. I finally was ably to get back under there and work on them. I ended up putting the stock ones back in and just shimmed them back to the equivilant length of the after market ones. Thanks for the help.

I just had to jump in here. So there should be NO hasitation between the tire rotating and the axle? I had better look at mine again. I can turn mine an inch or so before I feel the diff and see the axle move.
