Have you spun a tire on the rim before? This happens a lot to me and the guys I wheel with. Then the tube doesn't move the same, and the valve stem gets lost. Then you have to dismount the tire and its a complete pita.
not TSL's, but I have been running my trxus m/t's at 9. 12 was way too much. no bagging at all. 10 was probably the safest. 9 works great for me but I've got OBA.
FWIW, I ran 38" TSL's on my last CJ at 4 psi with no beadlocks and never lost a bead.
I'm running the setup you want, except for 2" less lift, and an 8.8 rear. 8" is waaaayyyyy too much lift for 35's. 4.56's gears are a minimum for 35's. I'm running 4.88's and still wish for lower gears on the trail. Perfect for the road though. I've got disk brakes on all four. Braking is...
I took it back to the farm and remeasured with with tractor bucket, stopping right when the coil left the upper seat. I got some much more useable numbers of 15 and 24.
It's just a run of the mill RE 6" kit with drop brackets. Nothing special at all. Looks like I'm going to have to limit uptravel and downtravel both, to get some shocks that will work. Has anyone mounted shocks to the LCA to gain some length?
I feel kinda dumb posting this, but I need some help getting some front shocks. My numbers are:
compressed 12.5"
extended 26.5"
ride height 18.5"
I can go a bit less on the extended, because the coils are unseated about 2.5", but I'd really like to keep the compression where it is. I...
I live about 1 hour from there, or so. Just north of Cleveland. Don't get many weekends off though. Might be able to go this weekend if you are going. My wife really likes to drive there. Its a bit easier than Tellico.
Well, I was able to go with the guys from WNC on Sunday. We hit lower 2 and upper 2. Dave led the way, and made it up after flopping over once. Yoderboy went next and got pretty wedged on the big ledge and seperated his front driveshaft, twice. So he finally went up the bypass. I was next...
Was there Sunday. Had a good time, and the place was dead. We ran schoolbus, helicopter pad, guardrail and slickrock, all in about 5 hours. Might be back over this weekend if I can get my broken parts fixed and the eleventybillion loose bolts tightened back up.
