I have them on my xj....So far I like them. I have put about 3000 miles on them so far. They seem to wear OK. I have not done any serious rock crawing with them. But they seem to do ok in the mud, hills and trails that I use them on.
He HE...I'm not really into names stamped in the metal...I turned mine to the inside so the writing did not show.
But I do like the lift so far. It turned my jeep into a whole new machine.
When I saw.."vent about Boston" ...I thought for sure you were going to gripe about the never ending "big dig" going on there.
I guess you people that live there are used to it by now. We head up for whale watches once a year or so.....it never seems like they are getting anything done.
Nobody mentioned an adjustable track bar? My axle was shifted really bad when I did the rusty 3" on my 99. I did not like the idea of rilling the stock one. There did not seem to be enough material to keep it safe.
Yep...everyone wants that cool lift installed on their jeep. I was the same way. Ordered the 3" rustys full pack kit. Sprayed everything with pb blaster for a week or more. Broke two out of the four rear shock bolts. Snapped the sway ends in the rear and one in the front. Other than the broken...
I'm not quite sure why that picture is not showing up...it works locally for me.
I'll check it again
You could always right click on it and copy the url into a new window.
This is a Rustys 3"...but with the full leaf. I have had it on the jeep since last thanksgiving. All seems well. No problems. It flexes well. No sagging as of yet.
Except airbags don't work that way. It's basically controlled by an accelerometer. So the bumper giving would have no effect. Rate of stop in motion.
I'm not one to knock others work....it looks good. I can agree that it is a little big....might have the same effect on the front end that a plow...
Thayer.....where in NY are you? I am running a rustys 3" lift and it is very smooth ...even when compared to stock.
If you have not lifted your jeep yet...come on by and take mine for a drive. It will give you an idea of what your up against. I'm in New Hartford NY
I'm not ready to go bigger...
I have been thinking about joining you guys for your trail cleanup...we will see how my schedual plays out.
Steele.....If you want someone to tag along...let me know when you are planning the nobleboro run. I would be interested.
Yep....I'm from New Hartford....well thats my address but I concider it Sauquoit.
Have you wheeled around here at all? I'll be heading over to the tassle hill area off rt8 south once the snomobiles are done. It will be an icey mess right now.
Get in touch and stop by for a visit.
