I used a Ford 8.8 from an Exploder ( Explorer) came w/ a posi and I haven't broke it yet..... But I was able to put it in because I have fab skills... If U know a welder or can do it yerself it's a nice way to get posi & disc brake rear w/o too much hassle

    pressure bottle removal questions?

There are a lot of earlier posts in here about eliminating the "football" bottle and using a later rad w/a real filler neck. a 91 up rad will work with a little tweaking and re routing the overflow to a convenient spot. look in the modified tech area, these posts are all a little far back there...

    How did you find NAXJA?

A friend of mine in the parts store business turned me on to the site. it has been a GREAT help in fixing the glitches on the 89, and a good source of advice. Great Job!

    You wanna ban guns, eh?

Sadly The Demoncrats are in control for two more years, until a backlash occurs, and that may be too late if the Obaminator gets to choose a few more Supreme Court Justices......not that the Republicrats are much better running things. I want my America back.

    Renix Thermostat question

Since you are in Cali like me, suggest going for "pre-smog" check, otherwise you may have the problem I had of having to go to a "Smog Ref". VERY unpleasant experience. I was missing the t-stat (didn't know it) and failed smog to become a "Gross polluter". You may need to return to the 190 deg...

    Trucks Jeep Cherokee Stroker

They were trying to do a "budget build" like one of us might do. they only spent $2,175.00 or so, and said they didn't do more because they spent the entire budget. It's an interesting build, though.

wiring the corvette fan temp switch

thks jeeperjohn, that's what I figured I would have to do if I couldn't find the other switches.....If I am successful, I will post it here. At least I have a Factory wiring manual to go to for the schematics. It appears that the switch from Borg-Warner may be obsolete, and I haven't been able...

wiring the corvette fan temp switch

OK, now I've got one for ya....The local NAPA has sold me a "corvette" switch for this conversion, and it only has one terminal...hence it is a ground at 210 deg. anyone ever use one of these? or should i try to find a similar Borg-Warner or niehoff switch w/ the two terminals?

    No Thermostat?

sounds trippy.........haven't seen one of those.....OK, went to NAPA and bought thermal sensor tester, a little laser gun that reads temp from a distance. results of a reading on the eng at idle are:188 on thermostat housing, 195 agt temp sender, and 170 at the fan switch on the rad housing. may...

    No Thermostat?

OK, to throw in my .02 I have an 89 that has the following: brand new rad (CSF), 195 deg thermostat, new hoses, overflow bottle (stock style), temp sending unit, Hesco pump and am indicating 210 to 230, fluctuating back and forth, mostly under load, and a brand new fan control switch that hasn't...
