Def. do new driveshaft u joints. I had one that seemed tight, and couldnt find the vibes. replaced both joints as a first step and it took care of 90% of the vibration.
This was one of the few let downs when I bought my XJ. Im 6 even and slept in the back 4 or 5 times and was not at all comfy. I had an 92 2door S10 Blazer that was Kickass for sleeping in the back, floor folded flat, lots of room. Figured the 4 door XJ would be even better. Not so. I will...
hehe. your rear end hums? sorry, childish sense of humor. x2 on checking your pinion bearing. My friends went and actually got hot enough to catch the grease and oil on the outside of the housing on fire. (granted he may have overtorqued the yoke nut....)
Same here 53, did almost the same as your write up and am very happy with the finished look. Way better looking than big fugly aftermarket flares. About to do the rears in a few weeks now following your write up. Thanks man!
Id say Aussie up front as well, ran mine all winter for the first time and besides being a bit on the noisy side (got used to it and stopped caring) didnt have any handling problems. And easy on the budget too. Havent ridden in anything with the gearless tho, is it like a LSD with clutches?
So is the Xfactor going to be helpfull getting normal steering back at somewhere around 8"? Or is it accepted that OTK is the only way to go being that high- weather its JKS, JCR or the tera setup
Yeah, no joke with the rust. I have a hole under my brake pedal the size or a football. And mines a 99. He pulled the HP from his 88 before it went to the boneyard, cleaned painted and rebuilt it since it was free and put it in. When it was side by side with the 00 it looked quite a bit...
Awesome BADaXJ, looked for hours and didnt find that link. Guess i need to work on my search skills. Anyone know if theres any difference in which kit works best with different year D30s?
Hey, have searched quite a bit, and theres alot to sort through about upgraded steering. My friend has a 00 with a swapped in HP D30 from his old 88. There were some differences with the sway bar brackets coil buckets and track bar from the 00 D30. He was looking to upgrade his steering this...
Id say just go with new coils. Then if u want to add another inch or two in the future, or get a heavy front bumper you can always add a spacer from there. Coils are cheap, and you can find them used sometimes if someone went to a bigger lift. Plus they should flex better (i think anyways)...
