Hi. Just dropped the oil pan to replace the rear seal (94 XJ) and noticed there are two stripping bolt holes. Anybody got any quick fixes for that aside from heli coils?
Hi. The auto tranny pan on my 94 is leaking and so I plan to replace and reset the gasket. About 5 of the screws were loose but that did not cure the leak. Also one of the bolt locations, right in the middle, front-to-back, has stripped threads. Some animal really did a job on this. Grrr...
Hi. Just received a mile marker 8000 lb winch and their hitch mounted cradle that is specified for it. Well, the mount is such that the electric box won't fit where they intedn it to fit.
I suppose I could do some fabrication and relocate the box and/or the winch on the cradle, barrign any good...
Hi all. Just replaced the rear seal on the 94XJ. Looking at the one piece NAPA gasket and thinking it doesn't need the red gasket goop. But I then think it wouldn't hurt. At worst it would seem a good idea to put the stuff on the rear part so it won't slip while installing.
Humble opinions anyone?
I've come across a freebie. An axle off of an XJ. The only think I know about it is the marks on the two tabs it has. One says 35 and the other 6826.
Any idea what I've got?
I've just acquired a free 27 spline 8.25. Its very complete including brakes and drums.
I'm thinking of swapping it into my 94 XJ, equipping it with a Detroit locker and running it until it breaks. If it breaks. Currently running it with 32" tires on a 4.5" lift.
Seems like a cheap way to get...
We just acquired a freebie 27 spline Corp 8.25 complete unit. What's involved in converting it to a 29? Is there a How-To out there to point me at? Is it worth the trouble vis-a-vis just getting a 29 spline complete unit?
