    Durango steering box-pitman arm fit

I installed the Durango box a year ago, and kept the stock pitman arm. I just recently upgraded to one ton steering and bought a new pitman arm (reamed out for the link). Both pitman arms didn't slide up all the way onto the splined pitman shaft. It seems like there is enough thread for the nut...

1 ton steering reamed too deep

Thanks so much guys. I’ll be ok with inserts-my widest point is .85” right now. But I will see about new knuckles as well. That way maybe I won’t have wasted the money I forked over for the reamer.

1 ton steering reamed too deep

Someone told me that it’s better to get the old Saginaw box, and they’re hard to find. It’s a tight fit, but it bolts right in. Anyway...

1 ton steering reamed too deep

Like usual I just couldn’t stop, ran the reamer a little too deep on my knuckle, then did it again on the other side. So I cut some copper tubing and used it like a bushing so the TRE’s would seat better. What’s the worst that could happen? I figure I’ll know if it wears and gets loose. Right?
