I had the same issue in NY in the summer a few years ago, I replaced the fan clutch and it solved the issue. Even though it spins it doesn't mean it's okay.

@TIM_MN do you drop the pan or use the drain plug, last time i tried the drain plug i stripped it plus the washer was eaten up. I tried using a generic washer and insert the plug I killed the thread and had to replace the thread. Now i have the correct washer but am scared to touch the plug...

I had almost the exact same issue, I can almost guarantee the wiring got destroyed by the drive shaft. Follow the harness wiring and you'll see the wires got rubbed out and is sitting on the driveshaft. I put them together with wire butt connectors and all is good now.

You can just disconnect the purge valve solenoid for a few minutes and drive around. If you don't hear the rattle you know the solenoid is the cause.

See if it's coming from the purge solenoid (like mine does for years now)
