I have a 99 xj 4.0 auto that runs great but the engine surges sometimes when I hold the throttle between 1500 and 2000 rpms when in 3rd gear or overdrive. It also sometimes misfires and sometimes stalls out when idling or going slow. It misfires the most when going in reverse or making slow...
The anderson creek ohr is closed and probably will be closed for ever. You can still ride on the surounding area. There are miles of forest roads back there buy nothing to hard, There is also I nice primitive campgroung back there.
Ok so my 88 4.0 xj (renix) just died on the trail, no power to fuel pump, the bassist resistor(white thing on driver inner fender) was very hot so we bypassed the resistor and hot wiring the fuel pump and it ran fine and I got it home.
Now I replaced the bassist resistor checked all relays and...
If have only know one person that had wheel spacers and all five studs on the wheel spacer sheared off and the rim fell off in the mud.
I would buy new rims.
I would go 4.56,
I am running 33's with 4.10's and I am at just over 2000 rpm's going 70, there is no power and I always have to downshift, I wish I had 4.56!
I have the R.E. 3.5 on my 88 with aals. gave me 4 front and 3 inch lift rear, I added a 1 inch block and 4' shims. THe ride is not that bad, but you would be happier with full spring packs
i have an 88 with 145k and i get the same clunk only when down shifting form 3rd. I have not fixxed it but im going to fix fro tranny mount this week, its toast. I'll tell you if it fixxed it
pigeon mountain is about 1.5 hours above atl on INterstate75. its above dalton before tenn. Its got about 20 miles of dirt roads on top of a mountain with free camping and about 15 caves you can exprore. I've only been in two of them. Its a really cool place.
