I considered that.
- To run H1 wheels, I'd need new centers and from the looks of it, I wouldn't be TOO far off from just getting a "custom" set of steel wheels made (which I could easily get a 6" inset).
- From what I read, it seems the military 37s that come on the H1s are really poor...
I could use some guidance as to whether or not narrowing an axle for my 2001 XJ if the right thing to do. This weekend I picked up a D60 out of a 05 Super Duty and my gut says narrow it, but I want input from people who know more than me.
I've been running 35s on the trussed HP D30 in my XJ for...
Already aware of that, though only one custom shaft needed because I'm only looking at cutting the long (passenger) side. Short (driver) side stays stock.
Today at lunch I picked up an 05+ Super Duty D60 that's going under my XJ (replacing the D30). I haven't gotten it under the XJ (haven't even gotten home yet) to check fitment however I am seriously considering cutting the long side down to both narrow the width (I prefer the narrower track to...
Oddly enough, the vehicle sat all day in the parking lot at work (warm sunny day) and now the problem seems to be gone. I'm still getting the code, but the hesitation is gone.
I'm going to pull all the ECU plugs, blow them out and grease them this weekend.
2001 4.0 manual XJ
It (finally) rained here in Phoenix on Wednesday and I was out playing around running through puddles (not deep, just big puddles). I went through one of them and my tires flung a wash up over the hood (35" MTs with cut fenders). Not long after that, I started getting...
Here's a shot of my leaf spring mounts and shackle.I could always remake the rear drop bracket but seem to remember somewhere reading that it's best to have the spring parallel to the ground.
2001 XJ, 6.5" of lift on 35s
I'm running OME 4" lift springs and BWE Comp Shackles. With my current setup, the shackle is almost vertical (rather than the ideal 45 degree angle) and the spring is pointed "up hill" towards the front. This makes the ride rougher and severely limits my rear drop...
Probably 6 months ago and it came out clean at that time.
As I said, I think the new pump (which is supposed to flow 20% more) likely caused scale and "junk" to come lose in the block and it got swept into the radiator. Fortunately it wasn't "sludge", just particles because the radiator shop...
