Myersville, MD here. Recently acquired a great space to work. 3 stalls, one stall with a pit. The 91XJ 2 door project should finally make some progress now.
Tango Yankee to all who responded. I thought a "historic" tag was still subject to the safety inspection, but no emissions. Guess I am in the clear. Now, its time to mod it further
I notice fellow MD'ers on the thread. I have a 91XJ I moved here when I re-located a couple years ago. ITs time to get under the hood again, and I see lifts, etc. I've been told MD inspection is quite rigourous on mods. Anyone care to share their experiences? Advice?
Upholstry and everything is the same, except the seat frame is different. They are interchangable without a large amount of effort. I am doing this to my 91 xj 2 door, which I bought as a project without any front seats.
You didn't mention ( or I didn't read) whether or not the 20' trailer is a flatbed or a cargo trailer. If its a van/cargo trailer, be sure to account for wind. In my opinion that would be the determining factor. You'll likely encounter challenges in hilly terrain if that is the case.
You could pull the wiper arms and reset them one or two teeth counter clockwise as you face the motor stub.....its tricky to get them just right but it has worked for me before.
Good luck
Check your CPS and other sensor wires - I had that exact same symptom once and I replaced the CPS and it fixed it - which was interesting, previously I thought a bad CPS would only cause a crank but no start condition.
I hate to plug a commercial parts business, but advanced adapters has everything you would need. FYI you will need a at least a 4" lift to get the engine compartment clearance you will need to run a SB350.
Its been done many times, but that is all the info I know for sure.
Good luck
Depending on the year of the MJ, they most liekyl meant you have an AISIN transmission, I think they were used insome toyotas too.
AISIN is the manufacturer, and to my knowlege they are made overseas. The jeep ones are usually refered to as a AX-5 or an AX15 referring to the model #.
They...
The seat frames are different..you can change them though - jsut swap the upholstry onthe set frame. I took a 4 door and used the interior in the 2 door - I still need a passengers side seat frame iwth the tilt on it.
Looking at the hitch pin where it mounts to the trailer hitch, it might rattle less if a second pin were used and a small flange was made so it is pinned on both sides or the receiver sleeve.
I like the idea, and it is similar to what I have been planning, just have to get it fabbed up.
Nice...
Re: Need help from smart people: creating an "ice warning" LED in the cluster?
XLT explorers about 99 and up have those. You could probably boneyard one cheap enough and buy a regular LED for illumination.
The explorer's "ice" readout is in the rear view mirror
