And a Few More:
And of course everyone wants to see it wheel so here is a quick clip: https://youtu.be/3WB5y_j2Ed8
And if you havent seen the walkaround yet: https://youtu.be/kxNuJvDeCAs
I also have another wheeling clip coming and a few more on the YT channel where I post...
The little scorpion:
But it still wasnt finished yet, I still needed to add a few things before testing it out:
And one more show the net weekend:
Then to try and figure out how to make the skidplate:
I trussed the inside and plated over that so in reality It is a 1" thick skid...
Tyler made the shift boots for me with little messages in each one:
He also made the armrest:
Each sponsor got a place on the quarter panel:
It looked real clean before the lights and stuff had to go on.
And then it was sitting on its own:
Got the pieces painted up:
Dash installed:
And then... tada, It was moving, I hadnt seen an empty shop in over a year and a half!
From the backside:
I made little edges for the boots to hang onto:
Panels got pre-fitted before paint:
E-brake turned into a monstrosity:
Fuse and relay panel turned out really well:
And the paint color turned out much darker than anticipated:
Another picture of how I did the pump... its also held in place with this bracket... seems to be doing very well so far, I'm not sure why this isnt an option for XJ owners.
I also bought a newer truck that can actually haul this thing around without issue... well I was wrong about that too...
lets try a photo direct to pirate:
So I didnt want to mess with the look by cutting a hole in the hood for the steering, so I went out of the way to drill and tap a new hole and mount the reservoir directly to the pump:
Of course you have to have tunes while wheeling!
But dont get a flame...
Time for a lunch break:
That cheap sickspeed shifter has been chinafied and I felt like it was going to break any second so I made these up from a transfer case shaft, made a video on it if anyone is interested:
The top part pushes down for the auto shifter:
Matching T-case shifter...
Made some headway on the dash:
And one fender... those panels are harder than they look to make:
Pulled the front axle for final welding and paint:
Started on the console, made a video of the center part:
Made a hole in the firewall for wires and such:
I made a box for storage...
Cool, thanks for the info. I actually have a cable shifter but its attached to the stock shifter from underneath... but this gives me the idea that maybe I can just move it up and patch the hole somehow. I'll just have to see if the cable is long enough.
That sickspeed adapter is awesome...
