Yeah, I havent cracked my 0331 head yet as far as I know. Knock on wood. My coolant has always been a disgusting brown with lots of sediment. I suspect this is mostly because of block rust, but who knows it may be cracked.

Hey guys, I've had my 2000 XJ for quite a while now, 4 years and almost 50k miles. Its always been down on power compared to other XJ's. I put on a Spectre cowl intake, full 2.5 exhaust, 2.5 High Flow cat, 62mm throttle body, injectors, as well as doing plugs to make sure there's no issues...

when I did my headlight harness upgrade a few weeks ago i cleaned, and reseated cables. I may pick up another end and replace that before i go trying to replace the whole starting system.

The only thing that has me thoroughly sketched out is that the ignition wont come back on immediately after i turn the ignition and all the guages are dead. For about 30 seconds.

I would agree with this, but it does it pretty much within the first minute of me starting it. Doesn't have to be the first start either itll do it on the 2nd third 4th start. i just had the same issues, replaced evertyhing but the rad. finally broke down and did it. Just got an advance auto parts special for like 89 dollars. Cant beat that and its got a lifetime warrantee Make sure you have disconnect tools for the tranny cooler, that one caught me offguard.
