Thanks guys! Plugs and wires are A1 condition and new MAP and TPS made no change. I'll check cap and O2/knock harness and sensor.

89 XJ 2DR 4.0 5sp. 2WD Sport...Engine stumbles above 2K RPM OR shakes at idle. I've checked grounds and connections and verified sensor's readings and operations. Has about 130K miles on it but can't find the problem!

I found a leak that had driven everyone nuts for years. The seam for the cowl area leaked on the fuse block. There is a layer of insulating stuff that kinda hides the seam way up above the fuse block area you may need to remove to see it. Water dripping on the fuse block made connections corrode...

I got a new tank and sender/pump made by Spectra. Best price was Amazon, 1st tank was dented so returned for exchange. (They are not boxed with any extra protection.) Hunting down new tank top vents, filler hose, grommets and whatever for total overhaul ratcheted up costs and time.

Thanks, You see why I'll be running R12 still. On line I was reading that expansion vale calibration could be a factor. I'll compare closely with both before installing the new one.

The new condenser came in and it is a parallel flow. I won't know for certain it fits proper but the new lines match up and it looks correct near as I can tell. (48.00 off of eBay.)

FYI I found info that states R134 will indeed destroy the container screen inside an old R12 dryer using XH-5 desiccant. A dryer using XH-9 is safe for both R12 and R134. (The mindset being rearward/forward compatible for new parts.) I found the best pricing for a NEW compressor on RockAuto...
