    New(er) style OME Sport Shock

Just ordered a 2.5" Hybird OME kit from DPG last week, and I upgraded to these shocks. No experience with them yet, but Dirk from DPG spoke very highly of them.

    REALLY BAD FUEL ECONOMY

Dude you gotta ditch the roof rack, thats a HUGE culprit right there. More often than not I see guys driving around with a huge roof rack, with nothing in it.

    For something a little different...

I'm more concerned with having the final outcome be a solid, smooth riding rig, free of d/w, than I am price. Not that I'm not concerned with $, but the OME kit keeps looking like the best option.

    For something a little different...

Doing some searching around, it may be the easiest option to get the 2-2.5" OME kit from DPG Off-Road. Trying to piece together a kit might end up costing almost as much, and frankly I'm kind of tired of spending money on this thing lol. A concern though is that I've read that the OME springs...

    For something a little different...

Reverse Inch-itus. While most find themselves regularly looking to go bigger and bigger with their setups, I'm finding myself looking to do the opposite. I'm sitting at 4.5" right now with a hodge podge lift. Rusty's springs and crappy shocks, TnT track bar, jks disco's, and RE drop brackets...

    Sunglasses?

I literally lol'd to this one, great post.

    Broken TNT Track Bar bolt

I'll try to get one tomorrow, and post it up. Okay, I understand. That makes sense to me. I'm gonna contact TNT because, it then appears that the bolt that came with the kit is metric, however the bolt that I just put in, fits very slightly more snug than the bolt that was removed. The thought...

    Broken TNT Track Bar bolt

Well, bolt has been replaced with a 3/8x16x3.5" grade 8 Hex bolt from Lowes. It fits perfectly, but for some reason I'm feeling like I just installed a weaker bolt. Upon further investigation, the bolt that was in there is indeed a grade 12.9 bolt. Lowes had socket head cap bolts, but they were...

    Broken TNT Track Bar bolt

Glad I could be of service lol. Thankfully this happened pulling into my neighborhood while going 10 mph or less, and not on the freeway at 65+. Double shear. I have no clue as to how it managed to break. This thing is my DD and hasn't seen any real offroad use, much less abuse, in a while. It...

    Broken TNT Track Bar bolt

    This concerns me as well.

    Broken TNT Track Bar bolt

Correct. The bolt that holds the Trackbar to the Bracket. And yes, it's an allen head bolt. It's sort of ironic that it happened today, as I was driving at fairly high speeds on the freeway this weekend, and made the comment to my passenger that the XJ was riding smoother than it had in quite...

    Broken TNT Track Bar bolt

Making a left into my neighborhood this afternoon, I heard and felt a loud pop under the front of the XJ. I pull into the driveway and have a look, and sure enough, the track bar bolt is sheared off at the threads on the frame end. Track bar is a 4"-6" TNT system, been installed for about 2...

    Improving rear suspension ride quality

I've experimented with tire pressures some, and can confirm that lower pressures do improve the ride, but 30 is the best compromise I could find between ride/milage/wear.

What do you do at work?

I deliver beer for a Miller/Coors/Corona/Tecate/Heineken/ etc.. distributor. Drive around in a 35' International semi. Mostly liquor stores, convenience stores, and bars.

    Improving rear suspension ride quality

Been having internet probs so I haven't been able to check back here. Thanks to everybody for the replies. Seems like shackle relocation brackets and quality shocks are gonna be the way to go. BrianHO13 directed me to H.D. Offroad Engineering for the relocation brackets, but for reference, are...
