    Well, looks like the "New" cps was/is bad. removed and reattached new one with with proper plastic cover. same bad idle, stutter stutter shake shake removed "new" cps, and put back old CPS. Works fine now..... until the CPS gets hot again and fails..... Still looking for solid advice...

    Finally figured out the plastic thing.... still no word on the paper spacer, hopefully when parts dept opens at my local dealer they will have a solid answer, as I cant seem to find another paper spacer from any auto shop. Time to do it all again. Thanks anyone for reading.

    Poor Gas mileage? 31s and 3.55s... I don't know where to start.

    dunno if you have a computer near but if your o2 sensor is broken is usually will read lean (hince the poor gas mileage because its telling the car to dump fuel) I think it was cheap if I remember.... helped me a little bit.

    This is all really good help... im gonna comment anyway. I had a water issue when I went into a swamp 2 years ago. When the computer died.... it behaved really funny.... would turn over sometimes.... run rarely then kill itself.... it would do all sorts of stuff. I beat my head for 2 days...

    I think naxja will agree that getting a throttle body spacer is one of the best upgrades for any jeep. Cheap too. ps. Search is your friend. Although refining results for throttle body spacer was little difficult... keyword gets a lot of hits. I guess

    this is a really good post and it sounds like yall know a lot more about this in me. (and im not even sure if this is referenced above) My car behaved like similar to this when my car computer was broken. ... continue on please.
