    Poor gas mileage help

is it normal for the speedo to be off progressively worse as your speeds go up ? i would have thought it would be a constant percentage, but am finding that is not the case with mine.

    Poor gas mileage help

did you unplug the front O2, or the rear one behind the cat? the rear one will not give any information to the computer that will change the way it runs, it is for cat efficiency and i believe it only trips a light if there is no noticeable O2 change between the front and rear O2, it is a way...

few questions about the drive line on my 98

if your fuel pressure is bleeding down i would suspect a leaking fuel injector, or a failing fuel pressure regulator, check your fuel pressure if you have about 50 psi i would think your fuel pump is fine, my 99 and 00 have 300k+ each and as far as i know have origional fuel pumps, both had the...

    Engine bogging down issue

my 99 had a similar issue, 1X per start cycle at some point when i would give it gas, it would fall flat on it's face for a couple seconds then run fine after. i would shut it off, and it would do the same thing next time i started it, no codes to help diagnose either. finally my front O2...

also check to make sure you don't have the A/C on, the fan will come on if the AC is on, i don't have a working AC to test if it stays on reguardless of engine temp though. iirc the A/C is on when defrost is selected too in the 00/01

    '01 XJ 4WD not engaging?

i dont think there is any relation to the lift kit unless a drop kit was installed under the transmission, there should be some noticeable resistance and a firm clunk when moving transfer case from 2wd to 4wd my guess would be if you dont feel any resistance to the 4wd lever that your linkage...

Front end noise when going slow and turning

yes on the brake slides, i just had to weld mine back flat on the outer knuckles, a piece actually broke off and the brake pad would wedge itself in a crooked position. check your steering shaft also your steering box spacer. it does sound like a universal, could be a loose or worn steering...

    Backfire & hard start issue....?

how old is your battery? been having similar issues, almost felt like timing was off when trying to start, the small backfire i think would stop the starter from continuing the cranking, long start times. today would not stay running, small backfire while trying to start without using the gas...

Blown fuse and "no ASD" code

i had a problem with that fuse blowing as well once upon a time, jeep would die suddenly and i would find that same fuse blown, this happened several times until i found a pattern that it would blow the fuse at about 3k RPM, after much frustration many searches and trying to lug my jeep around...
