    D30 inner seal part #?

Ok.. I know its on here, I saw it, but I've searched and searched to no avail. Need the napa part number for the Inner seal of the XJ D30 needed when swapping in TJ axle shafts. Thanks, Jason (TJ owner lost on an XJ board ;) )

87 to 89; difference in hp.

The older Renix setups do take a while to start, even when brand spanking new. Make sure your Crank and Cam position sensors are happy, that may help a little. If its running strong, why mess with it? I doubt I'd really trust the 27 hp difference between factory specs. The factory has been...

    Shock Specs, RE 5.5 LA

Parts still in the box. Hoping to be able to knock this out in one shot with all of the parts here. Jason

    aw4 search

I'm not terribly sure that you could get the AW4 bolted to the engine without getting the TC all the way seated. When I put the one in my TJ the only way the TC was flush in the bell housing was all the way in there. Have you really checked the fluid level? Mine took a while before everything...

    Shock Specs, RE 5.5 LA

We've peiced together a kit for my bud's XJ that's about the size of the RE 5.5 LA kit, but we still need shocks. I was wondering if anyone had Bilstein or OME part numbers/specs for shocks for a lift this size on an XJ? Thanks, Jason

Tranny gave up while towing a trailer

The computer can get confused and cause a 'neutral' feeling also. Managed to get mine in this situation when swapping it into my TJ. First I'd suggest pulling the plug on the computer and seeing if it shifts correctly. checkout the manual testing section of this...

AW4 Swap - Not shifting right

Really Late reply to this, but here's the issue (swapped a 1999 AW4 with 1994 TCU in my TJ). The output speed sensor is a really different type on the newer AW4s. A 4 pulse per revolution Hall effect sensor. It actually creates a little voltage for each pulse. The older "1 speed sensor" AW4s...

    Amc V-8: Mj

Its shouldn't be all that bad to make shift. The older AW-4 TCUs only really need power (both bat and ignition) and a 0-4.5 volt TPS signal. If you are using the RENIX style with the 4.5->0 TPS you might want to start looking for a post renix TCU depenting on the TPS that the edlebrok setup has...

NP231 starting to go...... what to do?

The tranny really can't leak in too many places. If it is leaking it would most likely be the rear output seal by what you have described. You'll be able to tell this when you pull the t-case out. Front of t-case should be pretty dry, but it its covered in ATF then its time for a new output seal...

NP231 starting to go...... what to do?

Auto XJ case is NOT quite the same as a TJ case. The XJ AW4 requires a short input shaft. TJs tend to have the long shaft. Otherwise they are the same and interchangable. FWIW, what exactly is wrong with your case? Where is it leaking from? This could be a result of the SYE installation (bad...

    AW4 shift issues

Ok.. Might understand my issue now. FSM and testing seem to point to the rear tone ring for the output speed sensor to ring at 1 pulse per rev on the 1994. There are 4 standoffs on the 1999 tone ring (opposed to 2 on the pictures I'm seening of teh 1994). Does anyone know if the 1999 expects...

    AW4 shift issues

Ok, .. Its not an XJ.. and its not OEM, but it would be for you guys Heres the swap 1997 TJ 1999 XJ AW-4 1994 XJ AW-4 computer I've got most of the issues between the computer and new tranny wire harness solved. First question 99-00 FSM calls the shift solenoids A, B, C and also 1, 2, 3. but...

Noobie looking for answers, tranny question

All Aw4s have some computer help. I know that there is a difference between the 1994 XJ computer that I lifted and the 1999 tranny that I have. Nothing major. Some time around when they integrated the TCU with ODBII they added an input speed sensor in the front of the tranny. That's the only...

    OME 2" / Vibe Prevention

To actually post something relevant to the subject. Been helping out an '01 with a rusty's 3" lift. 4 degrees was too much. 2 degrees was better, but still had a slight vibe (really picky ex ricer driving, we all think it rides like a caddy). Installed drop kit, seemed to help but now has a...
