Check out the General AT2's. I got 35K miles on mine right now. They are on my Tahoe. Easily another 20-25k out of them.

How does an automatic XJ not have the AW4. Did you swap it out for a different one or do you have that "other" automatic?

Use a pool noodle and some expanda foam. Trim to liking and then paint black. Done.
