350xj's Front Leaf Spring Build-up pics

News: I got my cherokee out of the garage finally. I don't have any pictures yet, the only time I've had to take them are between jobs and when it's too dark so this weekend I'll try. It's up on all fours right now in the drive way waiting to be towed away to another shop where I can...

In that case I'll probably just go with the 1/2 tons for now until I need to go bigger or until I get 35's under there. For the update, I've got it rolling. I want to get the steering attached before I tow it anywhere but just thought I'd get you all informed. I'll have pics when I'm not too...

350xj's Front Leaf Spring Build-up pics

You know, the only thing that I really have a problem with here is that the only thing that I can respond to is this comment. Why is everyone talking about apples and oranges again? Anyway, I have 1/2 tons on there because they were on the $300 suburban that I bought. I plan on going with...

350xj's Front Leaf Spring Build-up pics

I think I'm sticking with shackles in the front and a "lifted" static drop in the rear (both referring to the front springs) because it's so familiar. So many people have done it and I'm pretty comfident that I won't have too much of a problem with them. Especially because they're only about 3...

Um...I'm puting a bumper on it soon that will guard them, if that's what you're getting at. And I'm puting 35" tires at the biggest on the truck. Why the later 30 spline? Sorry I'm not as informed as I should be about this :D

Well, then you'll love my new pics. I already had the ones that you're talking about made I just wanted to get an idea with the old shackles. The new ones are killer, too! Strong as hell and look great! Just so everyone gets an idea of what it will look like in the end I've got some more...

    350 LT1 crate (I'm still giddy!!!)

You said it! and around here (idaho) it's ridiculous what you can find chevy parts for. I bot a suburban rolling (minus the tranny and transfercase) for $300!!! I love how easy it is to get a hold of those around here. Not to mention how easy it makes it to find people who work on them! hahaha

350xj's Front Leaf Spring Build-up pics

I'm not going to chat much about it since I can't actually go through and explain every picture one at a time, but I'll give you guys the general idea. I'm puting 1/2-ton axels on my cherokee and I build a support for the front leaf springs so I could accomplish this with the long bastards that...

    350 LT1 crate (I'm still giddy!!!)

Right on, thanks for the reference. Just for the info, the engine that I got out of the suburban (looks like it's in really nice condition) is an 83 (the most common one you were talking about). FYI-I'm putting a lot of work into the suspension to get this thing rolling yesterday and today...

    350 LT1 crate (I'm still giddy!!!)

Hm....I guess I'll chew on that for a while hahaha. Thanks for that. I'll see what year he got it off of and see what we can do :)

    350 LT1 crate (I'm still giddy!!!)

I have yet to actually get that far in the conversation with him. All he said is that he had it and I could have it if I could use it. I'm pretty sure that any 350 intake mani will fit on any 350 right? I mean as far as anything that I would put in my truck (earlier models). Correct me if...

    350 LT1 crate (I'm still giddy!!!)

I just got some good news from a buddy of mine. Apparently he has an aftermarket efi setup for a 350. Maybe I'll be able to keep my original 350 out of the suburban I bought and put efi on that. if so I won't have to buy the lt1 and I'll be back where I started. For those of you who don't...

    350 LT1 crate (I'm still giddy!!!)

Actually it's more of a semi-truck style of gearsplitter. Similar to the way that an allison tranny works. It's got high nuetral and low options for highway regular of towing/off-roading. Where is your writeup, though? I'd like to see it. ~Charlie

    350 LT1 crate (I'm still giddy!!!)

Hmmm...I don't even know that I'm going to go this route, and with what you guys have told me I don't know if I will. I do like the idea of being able to do payments on a brand new engine (even if it is cheap) but if I'll end up spending even more money converting it back...I don't know if it's...
