Important

you can check the valve in the pump by cycling the key a handful of times to get a good pressure going in the rail.

this doesn't rule everything else out, but its a step in the right direction

Alright triton ford folks...
2000 v10 excursion, has sat for about three weeks, went to start it this morning, took 6 or more times of trying to start it before it finally fired up.
It's always started right up since we've owned it. I wrote it off due to sitting. Drove it 10 miles, parked it for 2 hours, went back out to it, same thing. Finally started, drove 4 miles, stopped an hour, same thing, several times to start. Drove home, turned it off, immediately tried to restart and it did same thing.

Once running, runs great, no codes or lights.

I suspect fuel pump, maybe check valve, just odd, once running its fine.

How's the battery? Sometimes it's the easiest thing.

Battery is good. I even had it on the trickle charger for a couple days prior to starting it just to make sure.

since it happens immediately after shutdown I can't imagine it's leaking pressure down, but it is a good suggestion.

have you looked at the fuel trims? Low pressue will make your fuel trims go batshit rich as the PCM compensates.

It really sounds like a pump. Our old van was the same way before it finally konked out. Stick a pressure gauge on it to see what's going on.

The residual in the pump on Tritons is of garbage design.

Fuel trims will be off if the injectors are junk, but won't change if the RPV is the culprit, as by the time a warm up cycle has occurred, fuel pressure will be back to normal.

That being said, Nate is right, live data is needed.

Went out for chucks big 3-0 birthday last night. Took the wives, long story short, we went to a strip club for his 'first' time too...at least that's what his wife thinks...

We paid for him to get on stage and have the girls do their thing...

It was.

This morning when I woke up I was reminded why it's been 6 years since going to a strip club.

My ol lady was hungover this morning too but it was from cheese cake factory. Yeah she doesn't get out much.

I cleaned my garage and pulled my rear axle. I guess I'll pull the rough country stuff this week and prep for HD stiffies and Clayton stuff.

I do want to come up at least one weekend this year and have you or John help me replace the counter top in the RV.

The actual weekend of July 16th is not going to work tho.

It's a blast. Camille has really taken a liking to it, she and Case took it out for a while yesterday afternoon. She actually beat my jumping distance...I feel so emasculated.

Speaking of cheese, my supplier got me the wrong flavor of cheese for WF.....I am pissed bc there is not another chance to get the kind I wanted before I leave. So we will be having the sharp cheddar instead of the jalapeno flavored cheese this year. I will bring plenty of jalapenos to make it worthy.
