5.3 swap done cheap...ish

I appreciate the thought.
Ill trade you some flex fuel injectors for yours Hoooper! LOL
Hell ill throw cash on top if yours are the same part number as what i need!

If they are the same connector type (EV-1? Ev-6? I think its one of those) I would do that. I am tuning myself anyway so who cares, its just a couple numbers to change. Ill post the #s later, theyre standard 5.3 injectors from 2004 non-flex.

Really the flex fuel injectors have a different connector than the rest of the trucks? Wow, GM is retarded. They were using at least 3 different connector styles at the same time on basically the same engines. Sounds like I cant really help after all unfortunately.

Yep. pretty ridiculous.

For what it's worth, my injectors were gunked when I bought my LS and all I did was add two bottles of injector cleaner & three gallons of gas to the tank, prime the lines / injectors, let it sit an hour, relieve pressure, prime, crank, let it sit - and after two hours or so it fired off. Runs mint.

From what i have read that unfortunately wont work with the sugar that is in my injectors. its pretty much impossible to get it to dissolve with any off the shelf products.

So i got a call from the injector cleaner telling me that my injectors were damaged beyond repair.
fortunately for me one of my close friends just built a 6.0 for his drift car and has his stock injectors which are the exact ones I need. So that problem is solved and saved me 150 bucks!

Also, this showed up...

3.8 ratio. 300m outputs WOOHOO!

Nice! What is that in the back? Looks like roller coaster seats.

Thats exactly what it is. Im an Engineer for the #1 hybrid rollercoaster manufacturer in the world. We hold the current records for highest, steepest, and fastest. We build "wood" coasters that pull more g's and are far more aggressive than any other wood or steel rollercoasters have attempted.
I call it a dream job.

p.s. you didnt see those trains in the background. lol.

Rocky Mountain Construction I presume? I was checking you guys out at IAAPA last fall. I like your stuff, but I think Intamin might have something to say about claiming tallest/fastest (Kingda Ka) and inverted drops kind make steepest records a moot point. I also would have guessed B&M or maybe Vekoma for #1 manufacturer, but it always depends on how you define things...

Yeah, themed entertainment is a pretty small industry. ;) What do you do for RMC?

I think you missed the part where i said we build WOOD coasters...

We do hold the record for highest, fastest, and steepest wood coaster. No offense but I know how "Coaster people" are and I wont be drug into a debate on this.

You are slightly behind on the industry. B&M has been doing the same thing for the last 5 years. Vekoma? Biggest company maybe. We build their wood coasters!

And yes, we are currently #1 in awards and innovation.

I am one of four engineers here. I work on all aspects. Track, Structure, and cars.

Sorry if I came off like a dick but I have an extreme amount of pride in my company and I don't feel like I should have to defend its accomplishments.

I'm glad you like working for them and I do think RMC is doing some innovative things. No insult was intended but I was pretty curious as you didn't put any clear disclaimers on the accomplishments... Claiming #1 manufacture is a pretty bold thing to say, particularly for a company that's a relatively new player even if a few of the principals have been around the block a lot longer.

FWIW I spent 10 years with Disney Imagineering and now I work for MillenWorks (Rod Millen's former company) as a technical team lead. Themed work is awesome because of the diversity it gives you. That said, I also like how the work tends to draw the hardcore gear heads. If you get someone who's playing with aerobatic planes or racing motorcross on the weekend they're going to be A) better at building things and B) they'll kind of have a fundamental understanding of what's a stake when you're relying on your equipment to keep you safe.

Relying on gear to keep you safe is kind of what theme park designers are doing with the lives of the public all the time. If something breaks on your car and it kills you in route to Disneyland, the new media won't bat an eye. If something breaks on a coaster and it kills someone at Disneyland it's national news.

Enjoying your build. My apologies if the last post came of overly acerbic.

Ive been busting my ass trying to get this thing done and haven't had time for an update!

Atlas is in. I had to cut out and rebuild half of the tranny tunnel to get it to fit.

Built a 1350 rear driveline.

Everything is wired other than fans. Planning on doing them tonight.

Everything is plumbed. radiator, steering, tranny, etc

throttle cable.

Had to get custom with the intake tube to clear the tensioner.

Sheetmetal back on. still need to finish trimming the hood though.

exhaust is built. 2.5" into single 3" into a 12" Dynomax Race Bullet. sounds killer but a bit loud. might go to a longer muffler.

Brakes finished up and bled

Built shifter mounts for twin sticks and a B&M Prostick

Front coilovers rebuilt. still need to put spring back on.

New plugs and wires going on tonight.

My ram mount for my tablet will be here tonight so i still need to get that mounted and get it dialed in to run the Torque app for my gauges.

Its running great and everything seems to be working as it should. Planning on taking it wheeling on an easier trail on sunday for a nice test.

Here it is moving under its own power for the first time in 5 months. :D

I will try to get pics of everything soon!

I still need to get an Accusump and get it plumbed up.

So, this may be a terrible idea but I just got bored while searching the net last night.

I see that Novak makes an adapter for the 5.3 to an AX15.

How well would an AX15 hold up to that? I'm guessing about as well as 4L60E holds up... lol
