Did we ever nail down Goatfest??

So the plan is to make this one. I have yet to get to anything with a NAXJA member (other than randomly running into a few in Big Bear). Cougar or over near the Hammers? I'm on my phone so trying to re-read all these pages sucks...sorry if I'm asking a question already answered

Near the hammers, Means Dry Lake.

Its already set as the weekend of Nov 23.

It is and has always been the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Except the year it wasn't... hasta

Seriously though weeknd before Thanksgiving is my plan. There was some other conflicting event that year that would have made the event painful. I forget the details, I don't plan these, I just attend.

There was an event forum for this unevent in 2009 and it wasn't the weekend before thanksgiving...

Thta's probably the year in question.

It has been floated as a real event once or twice but it's best not to be. It's tough to put on chapter BOD to put on two big events a year.

Anyone planning on staying past Sunday ?

k.

maybe :)

....that's one of the busiest weeks out there plus free turkey on Thursday :D

That was before the new rules requiring group permits for events on BLM land. Now its not an event, just a bunch of guys randomly wheeling at the same time and place.

And that year was a fluke, somebody posted the wrong date and it got huge momentum, so we went with it.

A distinct possibility. I may need to kill a day before picking up Jody in either Lost Wages or LA, on the way to PSR.

I'd like to see the KOH DVD, but I hesitate to spend $31 on it ($25 + shipping). If someone could bring a copy to Goatfest, I could bring a laptop or portable DVD player to watch it on. I'm sure others would enjoy it too.

On a tiny screen with a tiny speaker. Best I can do. Maybe someone with a camper or RV or could provide something better?

Of course, there's still the bigger issue of the DVD itself.

I bought the DVD. Ill bring it with me. There is a nice section of the movie focused on the NAXJA rig.

So if a Grand Vitara just happens to show up to do some random wheeling it will be OK?
