what do you need to get done?

Update:
Install RCV Shafts
Fix rear shock situation
Gas it up and load gear

Should have read like this... Blown u joints pretty much guarantee shaft ear failure and 99% of the time the manufacturer wont warranty a shaft that was broken from a u-joint failure. The unfortunate thing is that you can't really run a true "super joint" in a cherokee because they would wear out incredibly fast since the front is always spinning.

All I have left is to reinstall my left front strut, install the new seats, and get a new winch fair lead put on!

Cool story bro.

That's true...

But I'm just saying that from personal experience, I'd never spend money on alloy shafts with yokes. I'd run big joint stock shafts or make the jump to RCVs. The stock shafts actually hold up pretty good. Or at least for me they did.

Even with my small setup, I wish I had done RCV's. Peace of mind is worth a lot for not a lot of additional cost.

I found a Walker 44680 intermediate exhaust pipe to fix my bent and rusted one for $38 at Summit. Now to get it ordered and installed at the WF.

The local parts store would have that same pipe for the same price if you didn't want to wait

Thanks, I'll check that out. In my Google searches none of the major parts stores popped up at the top. I searched through my O'Reilly's account and didn't see it there although, at the time, I didn't have the part number handy.

Knock about $600 off for me and I'll buy them. That was the plan but these fell in my lap for a price I couldn't refuse.

Lol!

Flex doesn't really wheel hard enough to need Rcv shafts.

You're exactly right. I drive it and cannot afford a truck to pull it with so I don't push it really hard. I have broken a shaft but have yet to break a u-joint. I want rcv's to get rid of joints but that's not gonna happen right now so 760's, full circle clips and alloys are gonna have to work.

Fix the switch to the blower so I will have A/C on the trail

Install the ZJ fan clutch

Move tranny cooler and power steering cooler to a better location and add a fan on them

Drain and fill the tranny. I cooked it on Friday. She ran 220* on the downstream side of the cooler all day and was in the red on the inlet side. I'm a little worried about the tranny.

Other than that, its already packed and ready!

Really?

AW4's are tough. Do a garage flush (series of drains and re-fills), and drop the pan on the final one to swap in a new filter.

I will. I have another AW4 ready to swap in but I'm going to try to milk this one until winter. I'm looking at tranny cooler options and different places to mount one. In front of the radiator just doesn't work on this rig for some reason. My engine runs cool but even with the Hayden 30,000#GVWR stacked plate in the pass side of the grill and a new ZJ fan clutch she runs hot. I have sensors on the inlet and outlet side of the cooler and its working, just not good enough.

I'm thinking about this one in front of the front cross member and behind/protected by my bumper.

ZJ now has ice cold A/C. Hope it holds the charge until the crawl, I'll bring a can and the hose just in case.

Wired up the CB tonight too. It goes on the lift next week for the t'case swap and front axleshaft swap (CV -> ujoint). Rather have the stronger u-joint shafts in ahead of time to avoid replacing a junk CV on the trail.

Painted the hood vents, will cut up my hood next week also. Got a little aggressive with the sander, but it won't bother anyone but me.

There is a place near me that says they re arch springs. They may just be idiots but the two people in know who have used them were dissatisfied, they worked great for a couple of wheeling trips then sagged even worse and one had a cracked main leaf.

I know there are a lot of variables, your guy may know something this guy doesn't. My.02

I looked into it when my RE 3.5 packs sagged.

It's still old wore out metal when your done arching them again... I may try adding a leaf to Sams jeep to ring them back to life just a touch

Outside of breaking down two tires for inside patches this Saturday, Floyd the Struggle Wagon is ready for Harlan!
