Important

Tire rack has those for $193. Probably cheaper if you look around.

12.50's are pricier at $231.

red 'always wanted 4 more inches' heep

After shipping it will be more than $213, you aren't the only one with a prime membership! :D

Got my D44a clutch pack set from RWK Haus Supply and got the go ahead to strip the 242 and driveshafts from the wrecked 97 ZJ at work.

Good thing I'm on vacation this week.

Nice!

And nice!

As you know, I'm always glad to hear anything about keeping that ZJ in your hands. Glad to know there's progress ahead.

Thanks. It will be around a while; we sold the van and Kim is driving the Avalanche, so the Jeep is my backup. I can drive the company car anytime, so the Jeep still just sits :D

Cheap to keep. That's a plus.

That is why my cousin sold his JK and bought a CJ8. He can drive his cruiser anytime so the jeep only gets drove on weekends.....$400 a month that he's not spending on a payment can go into making it more of a beast! It already has a built 401! :D

I think I just found a rear axle...though some assembly is required...

There is a guy who stopped building his project xj, he has an xj d44 rear for sale. However its disassembled and blasted. I really could care less that its a 44, but the housing is cleaned and ready to go. it also has the spacer plates to adapt to disc brakes. he also has a nib arb locker, compressor, gear set, install kit, chromo shafts, and an iro truss. basically he is charging for the price of the locker and compressor. the only issue is the gear set is 4.88(i think thats a 44 ratio) and not 4.10...however, i'm sure it wouldn't be terrible to trade for a 4.10 set since the gears are nib motive gears...

more than i want to spend on an upgrade, but its a heck of a deal. i would just need to buy brake parts and lines. i think the adapter uses explorer calipers and rotors...of which i may actually already have in the shop. it also may be a little overkill for what i was planning on doing, but it would be an easy axle to sell if i ever upgraded....

Anyone know anything about calculus? Specifically concavity and the second derivative and is willing to check my homework before I turn it in?

Upgrade? From that? Aside from going full-widths, I don't think you'd ever have to worry about breaking it. Holy balls, that's some quality axle right there.

Buy it, finish it, bolt it in, fuggetaboutit.

It's been 14 years since I had to do anything associated w 2nd derivatives. So I wouldn't be very good at them now. The funny thing about calc is you use almost none of it as an engineer.

full widths is what i was referring to...though i don't see that happening any time in the future. he came down to my price. now i just have to figure out when i can go get it
