2000 XJ Mogs, 43's, cage, doubler, full hydro, beadlocks build

Been wheelin a lot lately, hit barnwell, hot springs, katemcy 2, buck creek ranch, and Clayton in the last 2 months, no major breakage and have picked off some of the hardest trails around, tore up the roof and smashed the whole right rear quarter panel in is the only real damage so far. Here some pics in no specific order.

do your coils unseat every time you flex it out? That last one didn't look like it was even flexed that much, just drooped, and your coil is almost falling out. Its doing nothing for you at that point, right?

plans for limit straps in the future?

did you have your brake lines ziptied in a coil - i assume to take up the slack and keep it out of the tires?

Yes the coils unseat, but since I have 3" up travel and 9" down, it's hard to find a coil that won't unseat, I've wheeled every hard trail around me and the coils haven't been an issue, it is limit strapped in those pictures though the coils unseat before the straps tighten, always have

i hate to be that guy, as im no nazi... i honestly only wear mine when on the highway or crawling... but seat belt man. that cage is worthless if it smushes you.

.

From the guy that wheels bare foot.....:looney:

Real nice build.....

Nice XJ! I'm digging the retention of the majority of the body!

Thanks man, it's been a blast to see the look on people's faces when a cherokee comes up the hardest trail at a park leading/pulling a group of built cj/yj/tj or buggies. I usually lead due to superior clearance, gearing, and a general disregard for sheet metal.

I thought Texas was flat. Prarie's and lakes oh well. Nice job. I have the same set up on t-cases! I ran the shift rails thru the top though, in a frame I made. It's an aluminum 3/4"x1" frame to space up the inspection/access cover. I made my own shifter housing and used salvaged cables that are aircraft grade, braided stainless, wrapped with wire and zert fittings on both ends. I'm a little leary on your cables mounted on the bottom running the old shift rail set up which was prone to leaks in an upright position. I'd install a sight tube for the oil level. Also the cables look like they could be smashed easily especially in the pic where you posted the caption-- "Crunch". Like the portals a lot and the stance!! ENJOY IT!
