Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Had to pull the engine out of the cobra... Melted all the pistons in it playing around in it Saturday night.

Oh crap! Those videos you showed me at the Crawl were pretty sweet. Always been a big mustang fan!

Dare I ask what happened?

Well, you know what they say... Bigger, better, stronger, faster. Plans are to just replace the pistons & of course head gaskets. But this time I'm going to up the compression back to 10.5:1 or so (stock) and then run that with the blower. I got an extremely good deal on these pistons so I bought them even though they weren't exactly what I wanted. They were forged VP brand (best mod motor pistons available) but they were dished instead of flat tops so they lowered the compression down to 9.2... Which kinda hurt my power some. I may also do some clean up on the heads while I'm at it. But bottom line is that financially this couldnt have happened at a worse time so I'm only going to spend money on what I have to. The goal is to bust over 400 to the tires on motor alone, & over 500 with some go juice.

Packed up the Jeep tonight. Beach bound tomorrow evening for a much needed weekend away camping. Looking forward to a weekend of sand, ocean, and being 100% lazy.

Bought some 35-12.50-17 ProComp Xtreme All Terrains for the Ram today. Was going to get 315-70-17 BFG All Terrains but these were $25 cheaper & came with a road hazard warranty & a 40,000 mile tread wear guarantee. The BFGs had neither so it made sense to give them a try. Also, I actually like the directional tread better anyway. I have run a set of the regular ProComp ATs on my 1st Ranger & had no complaints, so hopefully these will produce satisfying results as well. I also purchased new poly track bar bushings & heavy duty extended sway bar end links that delete the failure prone ball & socket end links that come from the factory. Now I just need $290 to buy a set of Bilstein 5100's then ill be ready to lift it & put on the new tires & wheels.

I also found out what happened to the cobra & why... & long story short it only needs 1 piston.

Took some pics with a few updated things. Exhaust, Bilsteins, IRO Kit.

Just walked in the door from another great camping trip at Carolina Beach. For once nothing bad happened and actually something good instead! Got to witness a wedding on the beach last night and the subsequent party there after.

Couldn't have asked for better beach weather. Not a drop of rain on the beach, and temps in the low-mid 80's during the day. I did find out though...you can in fact get a wicked sun burn even if you sit under a 10'x10' easy-up all day...regardless of the fact you made it a point to stay in the shade the entire time.

The set up for the weekend:

huh.

If I get hired by one of the companies I'm interviewing with, there's a chance I'll be in the SEC (Wilmington SC area) on business for a few weeks once in a while. Can't say more than that yet.

Express parts in Laverne has 2 ZJs with nearly flawless leather interiors. Each has a 3/4 cut on drivers seat. Otherwise excellent.

Guessing you meant Wilmington NC...Carolina Beach is minutes away from Wilmington too...
