It appears that AJ's Offroad Armor is under new management (I guess as of last week).

I gave them a call today to ask if they could make the sliders with angled steps and the person I talked to sounded very confused. Ultimately said that he could probably do it, but it sounded as if he found that to be a very odd request. I also asked about a NAXJA discount with elicited an equally puzzled response.
It may just be that the transition is very new and confusing, but the phone conversation didn't inspire a ton of confidence.

Does anybody know anything about this transition or the guys who took over?

Give them some time before being too harsh. They just bought a company and probably don't know the product line perfictly yet. AJ's makes Xterra stuff too so maybe they haven't even heard of NAXJA before.

same thing happened to me too.I called him about the tanker tire carrier and he said they are backed up for a month..which is fine...but i still dont think he knew what I was even talking about...mentioned the $100 down payment and he was again puzzled....keeping my fingers crossed everything works out, I'm a huge fan of aj's stuff but for now I dont know

From the last thread I saw he was closing up shop and that was it. Health problems. It doesn't seem that g.c.'s will be honored

Did they end up making good on their sponsorship commitment before the company changed hands.

No. They called me back and told me they are not currently giving a NAXJA discount. Though he did say "not yet."

I'll agree they may just need some time to get settled. I was disappointed though because I had read so many good things about AJ

That is really unfortunate if that is the case. Don't see why the obligation didn't go wth the assets.

Why should the new owner assume the previous owners debt. That agreement was between the previous owner and naxja.

I'm the assigned rep for AJ's, i tried to nail down the details of the ownership transition before i left for vacation. Last AJ and i spoke the new owners were interested in continuing with their advertising. Let me get in contact with them and iron out a few details...

If the previous owner had purchased steel for bumper production, should the new owners get it for free if the debt was not paid prior to transfer?

If the company has not made good on the certs, that amounts to defrauding the club in my mind.

The new owner has not made any agreements if the previous owner doesn't settle his debts it's on him. He could of made an agreement with the purchaser if he wanted to sell his business for less to take care of the debt. If there was no agreement then it is still the previous owners debt.

If you don't want to offer discounts to naxja than you should offer a transition period until you grandfather those offers. Cancelling a long term sponsorship overnight seems unethical... especially if you continue use AJs brand name. It's also an insult to AJ who built a damn good reputation for himself.

Exactly my point, it should have been rolled into the deal.

Edit: it was AJ who decided to screw the membership by not making the liablities go with the assets, the new owners likely didn't know. Would you buy a business from someone that had just screwed their customer base? I sure wouldn't!

Quit bitching. The guy shut down shop because he wasn't In great health. If I had such bad health that I had to close my business down the last thing I would be worried about is some Fu Ken bumpers. If you spent money on a gift card then you should be owed a refund. if it was some shit you won at a raffle for free and didn't set your pocket book back then STFU.
