I just replaced the battery and alternator and I'm still getting a high voltage reading on the dash (16-18 volts). What else can I look into? 1991 Limited.
Check the voltage under the hood - the gages in the panel are notorious. If it's good under there, fine. If not, we'll keep worrying.
Make sure to use a good voltmeter.
As an example, the voltmeter in my 88 reads about 16-17 volts most of the time, but every time I check at the battery I get about 14.25. Worried? Not anymore.
