Would there be any problems with plugging off the vent that comes from the top of the transmission. I swapped out a 2wd with a 4wd and the vent just wants to spit fluid everywhere.

The logical solution, is to solve the spewing fluid issue, right ?
Is the transmission overheating due slippage or lack of a transmission cooler ? Is it full of transmission fluid other than the specified Dexron-III/Mercon, or is it overfilled with too much transmission fluid and just puking the extra ? Plugging the vent tube is just asking for trouble.

If you plug it off you'll just start blowing seals out from building pressure in the trans. Agreed you need to look at why it's blowing fluid out in the first place
