Oil Leak Mystery

Hey guys,

I just put in a new rear main seal(RMS), new oil pan gasket, and redid the valve cover gasket. with the engine running, everything does great no leaks, but when I shut it off oil starts leaking in between the back of the oil pan and manual transmission flexplate. It only leaks about 20 drops of oil. Any ideas? If it was the RMS wouldn't it leak constantly? I checked the valve cover seal and no leaks, oil pan looks good too. Thanks for the help.

Hey thanks, I think I got it now. After redoing it for the third time. Atleast I know how to drop and install the tranny fast!

I had a leak like that when my oil pressure sending unit started leaking. I accidentally hit it when I was changing my oil filter and cracked the plastic housing where it attaches to the metal fitting. Its worth a look since you have changed the usual suspects.
