my 88 xj wont get spark

hello guys, well this morning I went out and tried to start my xj and it wouldnt start till the 4th try and then at lunch it wouldnt start and niether after school. We checked and it looks like im not getting electricity to my coil or distributor. If it helps last night i went through a puddle alot faster then I should have and I think I might have splashed something but then later that night it started fine. what do you guys think? I'm really getting tired of my xj because I just replaced the transfer case and now this :banghead:

Why do you think that you are not getting electricity to your coil? Did you check it with a test lamp or voltmeter?

No spark at the plugs?

It could be the CPS or the renix ECM underneath the coil.

Check the CKP (aka CPS) connection, or the ICM (under the coil).
