Power window motor?

My drivers side front window decided it's not going to go up anymore. The window is all the way down... when I hit the switch, its just a lot of clicking, but no window movement. It sounds like the motor is turning, but not engaging perhaps?
Is it possible for the motor to somehow get off track? or is it safe to just say the motor is shot?

Here's a thread I searched up using "power window click". It's a little different than your's in that it clicks at the top, but still some good info. Have you tried "somehow" pulling up on the glass while someone pushes the button to see if it grabs one more time.

You can take the door panel off the bottom part of the door. Reach in there and push up on the glass while you are pushing the button to raise the glass. The regulator is stripped at that end. Try to remember not to roll it down too far until you get it fixed.
