transmission model number

I just bought my first jeep cherokee it is a 87 4dr and i was looking at my transmission plate does anyone know what model of tranny this is. It is a 5 speed manual tranny i don't think it is the original tranny since the manufacture date is may 25 1988 the other numbers on the plate are 89530053454 at the bottom of the tag as the numbers 162187. Then there was a small sticky tag that had the numbers 354066. any help would be good i do know it has the NP 231 transfercase as well.
