Universal washer pump. Anyone install one?

Since we have a mild day today I need to get my front washer working. Went to the autostore. They did not have an OEM pump that mounts on the tank. They sold me an universal that mounts next to the tank. They said to cut the hose on the old pump and connect it to the new one. Anyone install a non OEM pump? Which pump is the front on the tank?

Well I just got done installing. It was pretty easy.

I did mine with one I picked up at autozone, went in the same hole as the factory one, I don't like to cut factory stuff if I can help it.

FWIW, I was ready to replace my front washer pump when the washer stopped squirting. I discovered that the fluid reservoir's internal filter was clogged with scum from years washer fluid. The pump is fine.
