This one shows how to cut/fold the rear fenders and keep the spot welds. I just cut mine off above the flared part and welded it back together.

Here's another one

For the front, just cut away whatever you don't need. The only thing that even kinda gets in the way is the fender brace but u can just cut that out.

awsome just what i was looking for thanks

well im pretty lucky having a michigan xj with absolutely no rust and having 175k on it is just trying to fit 33's with out any issues with my 4.5 rough country aal kit i was checking into another 2 inches on it but looks pretty pricey for me that and as of now it drives like a champ on the highway and in town so i don't really want to tinker with fate by messing with the suspension any more

Always go with more, LOL .... Look up a member name 53 guy, he did a great write on trimming your fenders, plus you get to keep your stock flairs..I have a pic of mine in jeep showcase.. My tires are at full stuff in the rear of that pic, i think

This is my wifes stock fender..

I personally decided to go with TJ flares - just need to get the corner marker wired in after I finish the installation. That includes Krylon Fusion black paint - the grey in this pic is mocked up and not finished.

The writeup isn't nearly complete yet - http://www.yuccaman.com/jeep/tj_flare.html
