How much liquid does the trans cooler in the radiator hold?

Good question. Not much, likely less than a quart. With the engine off, most of it drains back into the trans. When I swapped out my rad, I didn't get much out if it.

Yea I just put in a new Trans and Tcase and I dont want to run the fluid through the old cooler to much longer. SO I was thinking that an after market one of the same size, behind the radiator would work good.

There's a couple of links to pages that talk about fitting a seperate tranny cooler behind the x member and the other in front of the condenser.

Like the link shows,the cooler should go in front of the rad and condensor (if you have AC). You can simply add it inline with the rad cooler.

FWIW, the factory trans cooler is mounted like that.
